Reggie Watts

The winner of 3rd Annual Andy Kaufman Award bring his vocal and comedy talents to the Comix stage!

Once upon a time, Reggie Watts was the Montana State High School Comedy Champ. That’s funny.

Since leaving Big Sky Country for Seattle more than a decade ago, Reggie’s talents for performance have traveled far and wide. He wrote A Very Reggie Christmas, which had an extended run at Seattle’s On the Boards. He composed scores for modern dance. And he played with a lot of bands.

Reggie’s musical record is vast: He fronted heavy soul sensation Maktub and continues to work with the live electronic group SynthClub. He has recorded with Seattle hip-hop emcee Byrdie and played with both Micron 7 and the Wayne Horwitz 4+1 Ensemble. He also records and tours with Soulive.

But now Reggie is back to comedy. Bringing with him serious musical chops, a voice to die for and superhuman ability with a sampler, he’s been popping up on the New York alternative comedy scene. Reggie has recently been seen at Eugene Mirman and Bobby Tisdale's Invite them Up at Rafifi, Kristen Schaal and Kurt Braunohler's Hot Tub at the P.I.T.,and Aziz Ansari's Crash Test at U.C.B.T. In 2005, Reggie was accepted to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he won the first annual Oy! Oy! Award, a prize given in honor of legendary British comic Malcolm Hardee to the performer whom Hardee would have named Best of Fringe.
