Each month Sara Jo Allocco, Katina Corrao and Glennis McMurray welcome a cast of some of New York’s most gifted performers to join them in performing the role of their dreams.

The fun of a variety show, the heart of a talent show, and the hilarity of a comedy show, Dream Role has it all. Every performer who graces the stage is given rehearsal time with Dream Role’s resident pianist, Frank Spitznagel, and each performance is preceded by a story expressing the performers’ love for their piece.

Past performers include It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s Mary Elizabeth Ellis & Artemis Pebdani, Avenue Q’s Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Spelling Bee’s Greta Lee, The State’s Kevin Allison, King of Queens’ Amy Stiller, cabaret star Colleen McHugh, comedians Matt McCarthy, Andrea Rosen, John Gemberling, Sean Crespo, Eliza Skinner, Jeff Hiller, Baron Vaughn, Ann Carr, Michelle Collins, Adira Amram, Tom Shillue and many more. Check out our YouTube page for video of all our past performances.

Dream Role ran for 6 months at NYC’s 92Y Tribeca to sold-out crowds and, in March of 2010, sold out the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. In June, 2010 Dream Role will begin a 3-month run at Comix NY with a full band in tow and amazing guest stars lined up.

This Month special guest stars:

Brad Aldous - Confessions of a Shopaholic
Ophira Eisenberg - Comedy Central’s Premium Blend
Christina Gausas - 30 Rock
Lennon Parham - Accidentally on Purpose
&
Livia Scott - National Lampoon’s Dirty Movie

Also joining us (for the very first time) is the Dream Role band lead by the amazing Frank Spitznagel with Jay Bois on bass and Rossen Nedelchev on drums.

After the show please stick around to mingle with us and our guests in the Copper Room and, since seeing Dream Role seems to spark the “what’s my dream role?” bug, we’ll have a video camera set up so you can tell us all about it.

We’re always accepting submissions and want everyone who’s interested to eventually take part in this show. Check out the submission page for guidelines and send us your Dream Role!
